About the Role
1st Line Technician | Wymondham, Norfolk (Office Based) | £26,500 to £29,000
"Good at fixing IT problems, but stuck on a helpdesk where the same tickets come round on repeat and nobody invests in where you go next?"
If you've spent a couple of years in IT support, you'll know how that goes. Password resets and repeat tickets, little variety, little recognition and no real sense of where your career is heading. You're capable of far more, but there's no plan, no development and no clear next step.
There is a far more rewarding environment to build your technical career within.
Our client is an established, growing IT and digital services business supporting organisations across the UK. It has grown steadily over many years, takes its responsibilities to the wider community seriously and puts the welfare, well-being and development of its people at the heart of how it works. It now wants a skilled 1st Line Support Technician to help resolve technical issues for its clients and give them exceptional customer service.
The Benefits
- Competitive Reward: £26,500 to £29,000, plus frequent salary reviews to make sure you're rewarded properly.
- Unmatched Work-Life Balance: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with a structured workflow that lets you leave work at work. You'll get 33 days' holiday including bank holidays, rising with service, the option to buy and sell days, and flexible working requests are considered.
- Health, Well-being and Growth: Private health insurance, a 24/7 UK-based virtual GP service, a confidential life coach, income protection and enhanced family leave. You'll also get free parking, on-site gym and shower facilities, an electric car scheme after 12 months, regular recognition awards, funded social events, lunchtime learning sessions and comprehensive development plans, with real advancement for technical or managerial aspirations.
The Role
As 1st Line Technician, you'll help the business's clients resolve their technical issues, speaking with them confidently over the phone and getting their systems working again. You'll support PCs and servers (Windows 10 and 11, and Windows Server 2016 to 2022), install PCs and upgrade software, support customer applications, set up email accounts and hosting on Linux and Windows, and support Macs remotely and on site.
Day to day, you'll troubleshoot anti-virus, disk space, memory and CPU, Office 365 and VPN and connectivity issues, giving every client a clear, friendly and professional experience. You'll be part of a collaborative team that is both challenging and supportive, in a business where growth keeps things interesting and brings genuine opportunities to progress.
Are You the Right Fit?
- 2+ years supporting SMB networks, with experience in outsourced IT support.
