About the Role
2nd Line Support Technician | Norwich Outskirts | £30,000 to £36,000
Tired of being buried under a mountain of password resets at an IT provider that promises project work but only ever delivers endless firefighting?
If you are an IT support professional, you know the burnout of the typical technical grind. You want to take the lead on infrastructure upgrades, influence client IT strategies, and get hands-on with cloud migrations, but instead, you are stuck clearing a chaotic helpdesk queue with zero time or support for actual career progression.
There is a far more supportive infrastructure to build your technical career upon.
We are partnering with an ambitious and values-driven Digital Services Provider on the outskirts of Norwich that actually protects its technical team from burnout. They believe in structured workloads and giving you the space to specialise. Here, you will not just be another ticket-closer; you will work on major IT infrastructure projects, act as a technical lead, and enjoy a genuine work-life balance that allows you to leave work at work when the day is done.
The Benefits
-
Unmatched Work-Life Balance: Start with 33 days of holiday scaling upwards with service, a buy and sell holiday scheme, flexible working options (including one day a week from home post-probation), and a fully funded social calendar.
-
Health and Well-being First: Full Vitality private health insurance, Aviva Smart Health with 24/7 digital UK GPs, free flu jabs, short-term sick pay, income protection, and free access to a confidential personal life coach.
-
Continuous Reward and Growth: Frequent salary reviews, monthly Notable awards with prizes, tailored technical development plans to help you carve out niche specialisms, and an electric car scheme after twelve months.
The Role
Working across diverse SME environments, you will provide critical remote and on-site support for networks, servers, and cloud systems. You will execute Office 365 migrations, deploy SharePoint, configure network switches and firewalls, and manage Active Directory and Azure AD environments. Beyond daily troubleshooting, you will have the opportunity to step up and take the technical lead on projects, shape long-term client IT strategies, and implement technologies like Microsoft Intune and Acronis backups.
Are You the Right Fit?
To thrive in this environment, you need a strong, structured approach to problem-solving and excellent client-facing communication skills. You must be confident supporting Windows operating systems (Win10, Win11, Server 2012–2022), Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking configurations (routers, firewalls, VPNs). Two or more years of experience supporting SMEs within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or outsourced IT setting is highly advantageous. Because on-site client visits are required, a full UK Driving Licence is absolutely essential. Valid Right to Work in the UK is required.
